Mental Resiliency for Times of Collapse with Prof. Jem Bendell

Joining us on the show this week is British scholar and emeritus professor of sustainability at the University of Cumbria, Jem Bendell. With over twenty years of experience in sustainable business and finance, as a researcher, educator, facilitator, advisor, and entrepreneur, he had his life changed when he began looking into the prospects of societal collapse. His viral 2018 paper, 'Deep Adaptation' made the case that we're not only moving toward collapse, but we're already undergoing it. This set his life on a course of transformation as he left his esteemed position and moved to Bali to become an organic farmer and musician.

His 2023 book, 'Breaking Together: A Freedom Loving Response to Collapse' serves as a treatise on the realities of societal collapse, and ultimately how we should be preparing ourselves for when those changes become more obvious. This work is the foundation for today's conversation as we explore how to psychologically prepare ourselves for the rapid changes we'll see in the coming decades.
